Rapid locksmith are RIP-OFFS

I needed a cylinder lock replaced for a client, I called RAPID LOCKSMITHS as they advertise R295.00 call out - I asked for a quote, and was advised its site dependent, locksmith arrives - no quote, he just pulled out his drill and within 6 or 7 min door was open, lock was replaced, - last week I bought a cylinder lock R179.00 - today with rapid I paid R950, the first rip-off - I then get billed R1950.00 to install the new lock - max 6 min - and let’s not forget R295.00 call out - I paid R3195.00 for a 6min job - ABSOLUTE THIEVERY - what a rip-off - THIS COMPANY DOES NOT DESERVE TO BE IN BUSINESS

*****ed Locksmith

Warning: Absolute ****** – Complete Rip-Off and Terrible Service!Rating: Rapid Locksmiths (Gauteng)My Nightmare ExperienceIf you value your money and your security, stay far away from Rapid Locksmiths. They are completely dishonest, unprofessional, and quite frankly, ******.The Bait-and-Switch: They took my payment upfront to open a safe, change the lock, and restore it to full functionality. They took the safe door away and charged me an ******ionate R2500 for what they claimed was a high-security 7-lever lock. What did they actually bring back and install? A cheap, flimsy 3-lever lock that only costs a few hundred rands at most. Talk about a massive markup for a downgrade!Incomplete and Messy Work: After making me wait a whole week, they finally brought the door back and left the entire job in an absolute mess.Broken Result: To top it all off, the safe door doesn't even close properly now!Abysmal Customer Service: When I confronted them about the unfinished work and the wrong lock, they promised they would come back the next day to fix it. Unsurprisingly, they never showed up and ghosted me, leaving my safe compromised and useless.Final Verdict: Do not trust these guys with your property or your hard-earned money. They overcharge for garbage parts, do shoddy work, and completely disappear when called out on their ****s. Be careful—these guys are ******!

Total *******

Such a *******. Do not use their services. Locked my keys in the car. Charged me R2800 for a job that took less than 5 minutes. And they don’t tell you how much it’ll cost upfront because of this reason.

Rip-Offs

This company is a rip-off. One of our drivers locked the keys in the vehicle in Pretoria. We called this company to assist. The technician arrived after 2 hours, took 5 minutes to open the door and billed us R2190.00 - it was a basic vehicle, Suzuki Super Carry. No parts were replaced, he simply opened the door with a wire. They obviously use sub-contractors who are not managed. The guy arrived in a private vehicle, not the branded ones advertised on their website, issued a private invoice with personal banking details of a savings account. Watch out for this company and don't be fooled by the R295 call out fee advertised. They are *****ed.

rapid-locksmiths.co.za - should have a negative star review option

This company deserves - points. These people are top of the crop when it comes to being dishonest and escalating prices. They charged me R1985 for a lock that cost less than R400.00. Worst of all is, that is not even the lock they used. The lock clearly is a smaller size (7 lever and not the 10 lever they insisted they placed) as well as a different brand (to top it all off. Accepted and paid their call out fee and even paid their fee for the poor workmanship (edges were welded in to make the lock look bigger and more sturdy). Do not use these people's services EVER. Told them they can take me to small claims court for the balance and explain to the judge why they over charge for stock they did not even use to start with.

Rapid-locksmith, ******ion of the elderly

My 78 year old mother phoned them to replace a 2 lever lock on a door. They completely ******ed money out of her to the point that the locksmith, Nicky drove her to an ATM to draw money to pay them. The lock costs R100. They chared her R2845. Included in the costs were: R295 call out R650 Labour & lock 2 x R950 to open the 2 lever lock!!! Of course my mom didn't understand this. She thought they had to change 2 locks. But R1900 (2 x R950 ) to open the 2 lever lock! That is absolutely ******ion of the elderly. She didn't have enough cash on her so Nicky drove her to an ATM! He never gave her an invoice. I got an invoice after I phoned him via Whatsapp. There is no VAT number or email address. It is also Nick's private bank account. I phoned the number advertised on the company's name and spoke to Tyrone ***. He spoke to Nicky and didn't have a problem because my mom thanked them on whatsapp. (Exactly what a decent elderly lady would do). I am disgusted by how they have cheated my mom. They need to be held accountable for ******ion, which is a crime.
