RANGE ROOFING & WATERPROOFING (SALVATORE BRUNETTI) WARNING!!!!

A warning to anyone entering into a contract with Range Roofing & Waterproofing and owner, Salvatore Brunetti. After quoting on an urgent job (Monday) and assuring me he would execute it 3 days later (Thursday), he requested an immediate deposit of 50%. I did a normal payment, which he questioned and said was ok. However, the following evening, he asked me how I was and that he was about to purchase the material and would drop it off the following day (Wednesday). He then notified me that he had bought the materials (approx.18.40 pm) and could he ask me a favour. The favour was to forward an additional R1000 to cover the cost of the materials as the deposit hadn't reflected yet. When I told him that I had instructed the bank to send him the POP by sms and that I had no intention of paying him additional funds, as the money would reflect by the time he was scheduled to commence work, he informed me that he had not received the POP. Why not ask for this to be forwarded, which I subsequently did. He requested that he drop off the material at a time that suited him on Wednesday, 12 noon. However he did not arrive and when I called 2 hours later, he said his wife had unexpectedly had a baby, but that he would definitely come on Thursday as scheduled. Thursday morning he whatsapped me to say he was running late and would be there just after 9am. At 9.21 he called to ask if he could come on Friday. My job was urgent and he had defaulted. He agreed to return my 50% deposit, but failed to ask for my banking details, which I subsequently furnished. I immediately started googling his company and came across a rather damning review on Hellopeter. I called him back to say I was onto him and that I needed my refund by noon, which did not transpire. His wife tried to make contact with me saying his past was his past and he was a good man and could he not do the job the following day. I had not mentioned his past! On Friday, he had a change of heart and said he would not refund me as he'd had a think about it and my only option was for him to do the job quoted for. He now had changed his mind and had no intention of re-embursing me. I informed him that he had agreed to pay me back telephonically and in writing and I awaited proof of the refunded deposit or I would take the matter further. On the following Monday after contacting him again, he gave me 2 choices. Either do the work or I could have the materials(which up until now had not been mentioned) dropped off at my premises. He said he had done nothing wrong , I was unreasonable and I had cancelled. By defaulting on the agreed date to commence work, he had breached his contract with me. I said I wanted proof of purchase/expenses incurred for the materials and he could deduct the amount off the deposit he was holding, send the POP less cost of materials and only then drop off the materials at my premises. He did not respond. No invoice/materials perhaps? I requested he furnish his address in order for me to collect the materials, but again no response. He does not have a traceable address. He is not reliable, credible, honorable, or trustworthy. He would never have conducted business in this manner if that was the case. And without an address to contact him, he is, in essence, running away with my deposit tucked deep into his pocket. Another victory for someone with no conscience, it would seem. Will he prove me wrong? Let the law decide.
