Couldnt be assisted because of no box

I went to the store on the 24/01/2016 to returned shoes I bought for my daughter that didn't fight her. When I got there I was assisted by a Gloria(assistant manager) and Gloria. The requested for a box for the shoes which I advised that I left at the store upon purchase. Their response was that they couldn't assist and I should come back Monday when the store manager(Dolly) will be availble to do the refund. I advised that I knock off at 5 during the week and by the time I get there its 17:30 and the store is closed. They then took the shoes and my details and advised that dolly would call me back. But nothing.SO I couldn't be assisted because I didn't have the box and the manager wasn't there. This is appauling service as I now have to follow-up on my side
