Don't be duped by Raise A Wall Visser when building a boundary wall

Contracted with Raise A Wall Visser to build a boundary wall on 3 sides of the property and paint white. All removed items on current wall were to be replaced e.g. electric fence, pool equipment and DB boards, etc. and there was to be clean up at the end. Contract also detailed that unused blocks would be refunded AND reused items would be credited. Contractor DID NOT monitor nor keep track of any of that but I, the client, did. I had photos with dates that were taken of the project and particularly of the wall day before it was painted showing all the unused and reused blocks, etc. The reused were yellow the colour of my prior wall, yellow so easy to count and identify, the unused was the price I paid for a 9 slab high wall which became 7 slabs high and you could easily count the height per side of the wall. Contractor did not return anything and actually put pool operating equipment on the ground in wet area which caused spikes on electrical grid, Delivered the cement they would use on the front drive way with no tarp underneath and left a huge silver cement stain on a black tarmac which they did not clean. Damaged irrigation equipment (smashed irrigation timer when they moved the slabs from the front to back of the house), were 5 days late in completing because his debris pick up guy didn't show up for 2 days and they don't work weekends. Left cement chunks in the pool and on the lawn of which 1/8 died and had to be replaced. Wall was completed with gaps in the wall so in a few spots you can see through to the neighbours side and see where the cement to seal and paint was app**** unevenly. Also rewired the electric fence incorrectly so alarm kept going off within 20 minutes of his departure on final day. When asked prior to contract start, he specifically said he was an expert at replacing the electric fence and had been doing so for decades. Addressed all these issue with the contractor for 4 months and presented the photos and invoices from the vendors who fixed the damages immediately after the wall was built. He is refusing to fully comply and refund as per the contract and will not address the damages left. He has no evidence that supports his position and is ignoring the obvious photos and invoices I provided to him, several times. He also will not take calls to discuss. He says he is not responsible for the damage. The damages amount to R5k and the refund amount for reused and unused to R6k. His is refusing to pay and is no longer responding to emails calls or WhatsApp texts. BE CAREFUL when and if contracting with this vendor. He does not honour his contracts and leaves damage that will cost you.
