BEWARE: Abandoned Job Unfinished

Feedback Sean, Roy And Tenday from Rains Group construction undertook a major renovation project on my home. At first things went well and the work progressed but about half way through the work it became clear that what they had quoted for was not being done (Materials were substituted for the cheapest possible, e.g. pine instead of composite decking, fibre glass instead of marbelite in the pool. ) and that they didn't know how to project manage and deliver a project of this size. Things came to a head when they tried to install 240v indoor downlights (not for outdoor use or waterproof) into my pool deck just 30cm from the water which could have resulted in the pool being electrified. With around 60% of the work done, they abandoned the job despite taking 90% of the payment. They claim they are now bankrupt and have taken down their website. Whilst they were here, my power tools were also ****** worth over R4,000. Based on the work completed, they left owing me around R150,000 for work not completed.
