16 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD NOT UTILISE THE SERVICES OF RAIN IRRIGATION

<div>I contracted in good faith to have an Eco water tank and DAB pump installed by Rain Irrigation. The installation has been declared unsatisfactory by an expert sent to review it at the behest of DAB International, who has gone the extra mile to assist me. Issues include: 1. Pump box has been butchered in an endeavour to cover the pump because the orientation of the pump is not ideal 2. Tank installation orientation is also not ideal and the paving underneath is buckling due to proper groundwork not having been done. 3. Electrics in the pool box to operate the pump is not compliant and dangerous. 4. Installation of the feed and taps are unsightly and untidy and not in accordance with pictures sent in advance by Rain Irrigation 5. THE MOST CRITICAL ISSUE IS THAT THE SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK. The feed for the house and tank are linked, thus water is circulating in the tank and there is not sufficient pressure to use taps in the house or to operate the irrigation system 6. A shortcut was taken by installing a non-return valve in the water meter box. Piping should run from the water meter box to the installation and a second pipe back to the source. I WAS CHARGED R1800 for piping not used. THE ENTIRE JOB HAS TO BE REDONE AT HUGE EXPENSE 7. I was overcharged for an Eco single slim 950L dark grey tank (R2950) - available at numerous retail outlets for +-R1899 8. I was overcharged for the DAB pump (R4800) - available at numerous retail outlets for+-R4308 9. I was bul**** into paying 80% deposit after a special arrangement was made in writing to pay a 50% deposit over a month in advance - this upfront payment was allegedly to benefit from 2023 prices as opposed to 2024 prices and to secure an early installation date in January 2024 ....refer points 7, 8, 11 10. The contractor failed to uphold his undertaking to review the site in advance to asses the positioning of the installation and other critical information. Two workmen arrived on the day and there was chaos as they did not have a clue as to what had to be done. 11. The contractor reneged on the agreed installation date, arriving 6 days later and one and a half hours late. 12. After installation of the system, my irrigation system was damaged and my garden was flooded 13. The workmen left my property in a shocking state including damage to paving and plants, chunks of cement splattered on paving and walls and items strewn over my property. 15. The contractor offered to make time to fix the mess 6 days later - content to leave my property filthy, my garden destroyed and without an operative water and irrigation system. No apology has been forthcoming. 16. I was seduced into contracting with Rain Irrigation which has an impressive website. I mistakenly associated the name with Rainbird Irrigation - one of the world's leading irrigation products.</div>
