Under Warranty

My father bought a Panasonic radio @ Ga-rankuwa Railway Furnishers on the 25th August 2018, the radio stopped working and we immediately took it back on 31 July 2019. It went for repairs for 3 months and when we were supposed to take it back, they firstly told us that they don't have the parts, and secondly they told us that we have opened it before we took it to the shop, why couldn't they notify my father when they realised that it was opened and the guy that assisted was forcing my father to take the radio that is not working back or we must buy another one. Mind you we still paying for the one that is not working. Is this even allowed according to Consumers Protection Act?
