Unicorns do exist!
I went to Rahima in agonising pain and after a week of being sent home because they "couldn't see anything" on the sonogram (2 different senior doctors), I was helped out by a trainee doc who took the time to listen and ask many questions and a senior Xhosa male doc who was warm and friendly and took the time to talk to me and, most importantly, figure out what was wrong with me after a week of being turned back only to return in more pain and bleeding. I thank those 2 doctors for saving my life as well as nurses Jackie Brown and Abigail for tending to me right until my surgery. The nightshift nurses of Ward 9 that were working around the 23rd of September were also absolute angels and made it a bit easier to be in hospital. The rest of the staff I was in contact with, I care none for them.
