Wrongly marked items cause embarrassment
Today I went shopping with my daughter who will soon we moving. She needed an outfit for her first day at work. As we are on a limited budget she chose a dress from the sale rack at Rage in Theunissen. The item was marked R129. When I got to the till to pay. I was told the price is now R199. I told the lady it is marked R129 on the tag. She stated that it was on sale but the sale was over the price is now R199 and that they have not yet moved the items off the sale rack. In an effort to give my child what she wanted and avoid embarrassing her, I paid the R199. However this is unacceptable, if an item is marked for an amount, that is what the consumer pays. If items change or should be marked UP again, which I have never heard of, then you need to removed them immediately. I was not only unhappy but embarrassed by the fact that I had to be told in front of other customers that the item i wanted was no longer on sale and had to pay the higher price. Please ensure that marked up items are removed immediately, to avoid embarrassing you customers and affecting their budget.
