Uncomfortable Shoes and Rage does not want to take them back

I purchase shoes on Monday the 6th and wore the shoes on Wednesday the 8th and the way they were uncomfortable I didn’t spend even an hour in them. I finally returned the pair on Saturday the 11th of May at Rage outlet in Menlyn mall. The lady assisting me was adamant that she will not allow an exchange as the shoe rubber shows that it was wore. She went ahead to contact the Head office after hours services and still did not receive the help. The shoe is still in this good condition and would like to know what to do to receive my refund as the shoe is totally uncomfortable.
