Refusing a refund for damage shoes

I bought shoes at Rage Mams mall on the 25th January for R279,it's not even a month.the shoes are damaged went to the store for a refund but they offered me a gift card or exchange of which I don't want because same thing happened in December. I don't want the same mistake to happen again, nothing it's written on the receipt concerning damaging I don't why izit so difficult to refund me.i spoke to Mahlodi from customer service n thapelo from store.can I get my money back cz I was not wearing the shoes everyday n m refusing the gift card or exchange cause am done from buying at Rage,even customer service failed to assist.
