Rage shoe store shocking service!!!

I was gifted with a pair of shoes from Rage for my birthday last month. Unfortunately the shoes didn't fit so I decided to go exchange them for the right size. I am not sure which Rage store my friend bought the shoes but I went to the Rage in Centurion mall. I was met with pure dismissal and the most shocking service from the girl behind the counter. I can't use the word 'lady' to describe her. She told me she had to have the receipt in order to help me and I must go ask my friend which Rae she bought the shoes from. She claimed to need the receipt to make a call to head office or she won't help. Plain refused with an attitude like she thought she was doing me a favour. I am still in shock. This isn't the first time in my life that I received a gift that I needed to exchange. No other retailer has given me these conditions. Maybe put these up somewhere so people know they can't give Rage shoes as gifts. Terrible service! Definitely NOT buying my winter boots from them this year. I was under the impression the consumer act is the same across the board. Thought the same rules app****. How silly of me.
