I want to return damaged goods I bought early this month

I bought boot on 8 may 2015 and they got damaged with 10 days,they were on special for mothers day and I bot them for my mom,when I return they they say I can only exchange them for something else,but I don't want anything else its not my fault that this shoes got damaged so fast,I don't want any other shoes I want my money back into my account,its so unfair that I will hav to take something even if I don't like anything,its unacceptable
