Contibutors to low credit scoring

When it comes to ruining credit score , rage is top on the list for doing that , when i went to make a payment 01/06/2022, i asked them whether R100 was enough and they said yes - my amount due is normally less than R40, now all of a sudden my total owing is R306, which i honestly dont understand
