Bad service from Rage promenade mall

I'm very disappointed with the service I received from Rage promenade. The sandal that i bought broke even before I could wear it. Unfortunately I threw away the receipt because I didn't have intentions to return it, now I'm being told that the system has changed and they can't give me another pair without a receipt. The store's failure was not informing me of the changes at the point of sale, now I'm sitting with a pair of sandals that I can never wear and they said there's nothing that they can do. What a waste of money
