Ridiculous Radisson Bredell
I arrived at the hotel after 2130 on 10 March 2024 At the reception, many guests were being assisted. I signed and accepted my key card for room 114. At 2200, after unpacking, someone was trying to enter my room, luckily I had locked the door after I entered.
I asked the male guest what he wanted, he told me that this was his room. I said it's not possible what room do you have, he answers room114. I phoned the reception to advised them of the error, to which the lady at reception asked me if there was two single beds in the room.... I asked her, to not be ridiculous and she asked me to advise the guest to go back to reception. At 2230, I received a call from reception, advising me that they made a mistake and I was in the wrong room, and the guest that came knocking was actually supposed to be in the room. I spoke to Polite from reception, where I asked him, seeing that this was their mistake could they not sort it out, he then said my company had booked a standard room for me and I was now occupying this other person's room which was more expensive and I needed to take my bags and leave to another room, someone will come to show me where I needed to go.
I explained to Polite how unacceptable this was, how I had already unpacked, he told me to pack my bags as this was not my room.
At 2240, while I was on the phone with Polite, I heard a knock on the door, I told the person to wait because I now needed to pack my bags, thinking it was the guest.
It was someone else from reception, I packed my bags, opened the door and the person walks in and calls me 'Brown ' which the person thought was my surname.
I told the person that is not my surname, I then told them what my name and surname is, the person seem confused and asked if they Could call reception using the phone in the room.
They then had a conversation, which lasted 10min were the person kept saying no Polite this is not Brown.
Closer to 2300 they now realiser that I was in the correct room all along, the person said sorry, Polite never apologised.
The next day, I went to reception to enquire about the unacceptable and ridiculous events, which was un- Radisson like, the new Manager on duty was unaware that anything untoward occurred the evening before, she apologized and said she will have a chat with Polite on the manner which he spoke to me.
It's Thursday 14 March, when writing this review and I am leaving the hotel Friday 15 March.... Is this indeed how guests are treated? Is this the service that I must deal with, traveling as a female, everyday since the first occasion, as soon as I enter the room, I make sure the door is locked and bolted, what an expensive experience that I would not recommend to anyone
