On 26 Feb 2019, I attempted to enter the Karoo 2 Coast cycle race using the online website provided by Racetec. I completed my details and when I submitted payment details their system failed saying that they received a response that they could not handle. I called Racetec immediately to ask what was going on since the system had now completely locked my entry saying that nothing can be done until the payment has succeeded or failed (which in this case their system had failed). I was told that the problem is with my bank. I contacted my bank and received confirmation of the payment. I have since contacted Racetec 4 times telephonically and each time they asked for proof of payment which I sent - including a letter confirming it from my bank. I receive no feedback at all from Racetec despite them taking my cell number and having my email address. they do not even have reference numbers for calls made to their call centre so it can only be chaos there. The money has left my credit card account and Racetec claim that they have not received it because their system shows an error. It is now 13 March and my bank says that the way to resolve this is to launch a ***** dispute against Racetec (which I am now doing). May this be a warning to all runners and cyclists who are forced to enter races via these charlatans.
