Principles!
The hotel itself is beautiful but the management and staff are not good at all when confronted with a complaint. My cousin and I, both over 65 years were forced to stay the night in Joburg because we had to leave my 88 year old aunt at the airport, on 13 March 2024. We booked in at Qurtuba because it was halaal and we were fasting. Their checkout time is 11am so we were tired and planned to wake up at 10.30am. At 7am we were awoken by the most horrible banging of walls and floors!! It was like doomsday. We complained to Yusuf who was on duty and after about half an hour the banging stopped but the workers started having a party, talking and laughing loudly and throwing rubble in a bakkie. By 9am we were out of our room. We asked the staff at reception for part refund but they disagreed. I then emailed the manager Ms Anysa several times but without any response!! To the Adamjees who own this place couple 100 bucks may seem nothing but to us pensioners it's something. On the other hand it seems that the owners actually are more hard up for the money than us!! ITS ALL ABOUT PRINCIPLE!!! WHICH QURTUBA lack.
