TERRIBLE SERVICE RECEIVED FROM A DISRESPECTFUL EMPLOYEE OF QUICKET

I recently attended the Real Estate Industry Summit, the event was well managed, well organized and we were well received.

There unfortunately was a very distasteful situation that unfolded at 13:00 that upset my colleague and I. It involved an assistant at the registration desk called Mordecai Masiya (if that is even his real name). To summarize the events that unfolded.

I wanted to leave the event and the security guard informed me that I needed to get a parking ticket from reception for me not to pay for parking. I went up and asked a lady at the Quiket registration desk politely where I can get the parking ticket. She was busy explaining and the individual, Mordecai Masiya, interrupted her and informed me in a very condescending and frustrated tone that the security is wrong, and I needed to get it from the “head of my department”. I explained to him that my two colleagues and I registered together and that no parking tickets were handed to us. He told me that it’s not his problem and not his responsibility and I need to go and get it from the “head of my department”.

I fetched my colleague who confirmed to the individual, Mordecai Masiya, that he did not receive any tickets. He again started to, in a very aggressive and condescending tone, to raise his voice and inform us that we need to look for the people who invited us. We explained that we do not know what she looked like as thousands of people were invited to this event. He laughed us off and made various comments of which one was extremely blasphemous and insulting stating that how we could be invited to an event, and we do not even know how the person looks like who invited us.

We stated that there are more than a thousand people at this event, and we are not special or better than anyone else here. We were just looking for assistance. He kept on hammering at us and asked me if I was offended, I answered back that we are offended due to the manner, tone, and attitude he was addressing us with. I asked for his name and surname to report him to a manger, and he very arrogantly stated he will gladly give it and he doesn’t care. His Quiket colleges looked very surprised and shocked and some of them were smirking, which I assume was due to the way he spoke to us. As we then turned our backs to walk away, I glanced back and he and another colleague high fived each other as if it was a great achievement and that he has won some kind of challenge.

We do not deserve respect because of who we are or of what we have achieved as all of us are human beings. We just expected to be treated with some kind of human decency and be guided in the right direction without it having to feel that it was a grade 1 lecture with commentary.

This does reflect very badly on Quiket as a company as the individual, Mordecai Masiya, is a representative of Quiket and did not seem to think that there was anything wrong with his behavior. He also didn’t see to thing that he would be reprimanded for his actions.

I do not expect and apology or a response but would want to bring to your attention the serous reputational damage such an individual can do to your company and it’s image.
