Queenswood Dry Cleaners and Garment Care- Blame Shiftfing

On 21 August 2019, I took 3 garments which include a white blazer jacket to Queenwood Dry Cleaners in Queenswood, Pretoria for dry cleaning. Upon delivery I took the a picture of the items as a habit I have.

I was informed that my garments would be ready for collection on the next day which, in hindsight, was surprisingly quick. The next day, at the dry cleaner, I immediately noticed that my blazer jacket had altered colour from a white to a beige colour. This was a distinct colour change, visible to the naked eye.

I immediately pointed this out to the dry cleaner and they stated they would rewash the it. They also indicated that their dry cleaning machine had a problem earlier on which was later fixed that afternoon. The next story, at a later date, was that a new detergent would be used to restore the colour of the garment. This did not work.

Later, I was told that the garment was taken to a dry cleaning consultant and specialist to resolve the problem.

Over 2 months later, on 24 October 2019 , I received my garment back, still discoloured but accompanied by a the letter from Garment Care, a laundry and dry cleaning chemical manufacturing company. According to the letter / Garment Care and Queenswood Dry Cleaners I am referred me to the manufacturer. Apparently they (garment manufacture) should reimburse me for the dry cleaner’s negligence.
