Poor quality of clothing - no reimbur*****t

I purchased a pair of white linen pants at the Kolonnade store in Pretoria more or less six months ago. Four months after the purchase the material unraveled and torn in the inside leg. I took it to the shop who referred the matter to their quality control manager. I received a phone call today from the shop manager to inform me that the quality control manager could not do anything about this or refund me as the item was purchased six months ago. This is shocking that the clothing at Queensparks (I paid more than R400 for this item) is of such a poor quality that its only expected to last six months (or less?)
