Insulting customer treatment

I have been an account customer for years and always maintain the account i credit balance. Recently I was notified that I woud need a new store card so I went to the Mall of Africa to get one. Firstly the cashier had no idea and got on the phone while I stood around for ten minutes. Then she asked for my drivers license which I gave her and she read my ID number to the person on the phone. Then she handed me the phone and the person on the other end asked me for my ID number! To cut a very long story short I was questioned for about five minutes about everything from A to Z and then told I had failed the security check!! They had my drivers license with MY ID number and MY picture on it!! What more security do they need?? Treated me like a ********, wasted about 40 minutes of my time and acted like they were doing me a huge favour. Who is the client here?? Absolutely appalling and I certainly will shop elsewhere in future.
