Beware Que Lebatha Consulting

I am a very patient person, so it takes a lot for me to be frustrated and go to extreme measure, but in this case, i must.

I met this company through a mutual friend, at the time i was looking for a PR agent to help promote my brand, she came highly recommended and i contracted her company. She insisted, i should pay for three months of service in press releases for maximum benefit, that one month was not enough as you need to build on momentum from the first release. I agreed, so we decided on a three month contract. The contract entailed a press release every month, where i get my publicity for my brand through the media (radio and TV). The first month went well, we got very good coverage and i was happy with the results. However the second month just flopped, we moved from getting a call every other day to nothing in the second month. When i enquired what caused the decline - she said "the story is not news worthy anymore" .... but i am paying for your services as a promoter, right? The newsworthiness of my story should be irrelevant, you are supposed to promote it, that is what PR is for and that is what i am paying you for.

Anyway, i took the bullet and cut my losses for month two. However i decided, there is no value in going for month three if i am not going to get any benefit from the press release. She insisted, i signed a three month contract and i must pay her. I was hesitant, but as a compromise i told her i would pay her - but we don't issue the release then, we wait for better conditions to release. she agreed and took my money. Now last month i get back in tough to cash in on that credit, sent her the release - she says she issued it. Only she knows, but what we all know is that I got absolutely no publicity from it, none whatsoever. I just had to take her word that she has been working tirelessly day and night on my release (which i highly doubt, since she cant even make the time for a phone-call to me).

I told her, this is not acceptable. I cannot pay you over R16k and get absolutely no publicity for my money. The response cannot just be "the story is not newsworthy" so too bad . . . i lose. That is not acceptable. She says to me, its done - nothing more she can do bye bye .... with my money.

DO NOT do business with this woman, certainly DO NOT pay her in advance for anything, she will not deliver. Once she gets the money, she is gone and doesn't care about her clients. I think she did not even send out the release.
