I had an extremely disappointing experience with Quay 1 and agent Nicholas Strydom during the attempted purchase of a property. Before the seller signed the OTP, I made it clear in writing that we would not take over the existing tenants and required occupation on 31 July 2026, as stipulated in the agreement. Nicholas confirmed in writing that the seller would give the tenants notice. I followed up several times and was again assured that occupation would be possible. Closer to the occupation date, my calls and messages went unanswered. Nicholas then claimed that I had agreed to take over the tenants, despite the written messages showing that I had reversed this position before the seller signed the OTP and that he had acknowledged this. I also raised the matter with the manager, Lieze, and supp**** supporting evidence. She said she would respond but never did. Neither Nicholas nor the agency apologised or took meaningful responsibility. The agreed occupation date could not be met, the transaction ultimately fell through, and we lost the property. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Quay 1. Be careful with this company; once commission is involved, transparency and client loyalty disappear quickly.

Shocking experience with this agency. Be very careful when dealing with them and their agents. In my experience, customer loyalty means absolutely nothing once commission is on the table. The focus seemed to be on closing the deal at all costs, even at the expense of their own client.

We were called constantly by these invaders because we have property in Cape Town. This being overseas and paying roaming fees. We had clearly stated last year already that we are not on the market and dont wish to be called. They bluntly disregard, and, even better, they now resort to lies by stating that we asked to be called back, as Bhavir told me yesterday after I finally picked the call with an overseas roaming fee because they just wouldnt stop otherwise. I asked for an explanation from the general manager still no response. If they would only realise that , having endured this constant harrassing, we will never contact Quay 1 ever, even if we selling. Rest assured, other estate agents are not better, they disrespect for privacy in their desperate search of profits is insane!
