Quay Four, Quay 4, or www.quay4.co.za in the V&A waterfront, Cape Town, South Africa ... Ordered their half kilo prawn special today. I've traveled the world and this was by far the most awful meal I've ever been served. Look at it this way: Remember when you were 5 and you pulled that piece of dry bubblegum from under the church pew and chewed it a bit? I think you get it. The prawns were so overboiled, fried, whatever, they were inedible. And that's after I specifically asked that the prawns not be overcooked! First I couldn't get the shell peeled off the meat and 2nd the prawn meat was so dry and tough I couldn't even chew it off the shell! After 3 attempts I gave up and told our waiter to just take it away. And the cherry on top? They had the hubris to bill me. My advice to any local or tourist, save yourself aggravation, just avoid Quay 4, period! There are many other excellent restaurants in the V&A that will serve you a far better meal, even the chain take-outs. Personally, I will not ever go there again. The only thing they have is a great location, the rest sucks! Go eat there at your own risk.
