QTC CIVILS management not taking accountability for damages caused by their workers

On August 14, 2024, QTC Civils workers were cutting down trees next to the road between Welkom and Theunissen. As I drove by, they dropped a large branch in the road right in front of my car, leaving me no choice but to drive over it. This resulted in scratches, minor dents, and damage to my left headlamp.

The supervisor was not on-site, so I called him and sent photos of the damage and the branch, along with images of the workers before leaving. He requested three repair quotes, which he said he would forward to his fleet manager for payment. However, I didn’t hear back despite several follow-up calls, where he promised to address the issue again.

I then visited the site office in Riebeeckstad, Welkom, and spoke with Mr. Johan Minnie. He assured me he would investigate the matter. I followed up by emailing and messaging him all the details and the three quotes. I requested acknowledgment of receipt, but he refused to confirm or assist with compensating me for the damage to my vehicle.
