Worst rental place

The rental place I had sourced it out for my in-laws for a period of 12 months due to unforseen and them also failing to provide wifi and place being small had to just stay for the month of March 2025 which was one month of the 12.

11 March 2025 I communicated with them on their WhatsApp number asking about the implications of terminating the lease early they indicated I am required to provide a notice of 20 business days from the start of the month. If I wished to terminate my lease earlier than 6 months, there will be a penalty equivalent to 2 (two) months rental.

They asked if I would like to proceed which I responded on the 12 March 2025 that yes I would like to proceed.

The rental was not even occupied most of the month of March but for only 12 days. 19 March 2025 prep inspection was booked for 10h30 for them to only pitch over one hour, which later happened when my brother in law returned from his obligations of the day.

24 March 2025 I communicated with them via WhatsApp again asking them on why are they charging me for April 2025 rental and utilities when I'm vacating end of March 2025 their response was I should pay for the utilities and two months penalty amounting to R16627.60 out of the R26 693.07 invoice they had initially furnished me with.

30 March 2025 the Rental was vacated and the penalties including utilities were paid on the 31 March 2025. They were even threatening to blacklist me which I had to ask them for what when I paid and do not owe them they indiacted when could I avail myself for move out inspection my husband availed himself on the day signed the documents at the Rental office with the agent available at the time.

To my surprise they send me an invoice now 11 April 2025 indicating I need to pay them R13 853.21 that I am liable for early termination penalties. This property is now trying to ****** money out me. They indicate that in 14 days I would get my deposit back to date I have not received anything.

This property needs to be investigated on how they run, bill and treat tenants.
