Very disappointed

I landed yesterday morning in Cape Town from Kuwait and my luggage wasn't there when i landed. My luggage arrived this morning, missing some expensive items. And they asked me for a purchasing slip. How can i provide a purchasing on things i bought in the past? Not only that, the luggage i had bought just before the trip, was dented and mishandled.
