Refusal to make first name change on ticket / refund / assist

Flew from JHB to IST via Doha.

Could not check in for flight due to a mistake made by the booking agent. Passport Name did not match booking name. Surname & Passport nr was correct.

Qatar ground-staff refused boarding. Qatar ground-staff advised that I contact the travel agent to request a refund and they were unwilling to assist with a name correction (Only first name) Flight with pre selected premium economy seats and lounge access was cancelled. Had to purchase a new return ticket at 4 x times the original price.

Contacted the travel agency for the refund as indicated by Qatar ground-staff. No cancellation refund due to Qatar's refusal to refund / issue voucher.

The booking agent waived the fees on their side but refusal from Qatar to come to the table despite ground staff indication. No way to contact Qatar regarding the issue.

Will not fly with Qatar again.
