Never fly Qatar Airways

Myself and my partner went to Thailand for holiday on the 3rd of May 2017. Upon arrival we are told that my suitcase was delayed but my partner's suitcase has arrived. After very little communication in 3 days, I am told my bag is missing. A struggle through our whole trip as all my clothing, toiletries, shoes, jeans, jacket, jerseys and gifts for family member we met in Thailand is lost. A lot of unnecessary costs on our holiday trip in order to have clothes at least. As we left Thailand, I was only compensated 5100 Thai Baht for the inconvenience during the 10 days we were there.

We have sent in our claim forms with our baggage claim value at +-R65 000 including all the things inside the suitcase and the suitcase itself.

Qatar have no consideration towards valuable loss and say they will only pay 1410$ maximum. Not even a third of the total value of the original claim. Qatar Thailand took up to 4 days on every response before any response is given. I constantly had to ask for updates and was given false and misleading information.

I accepted the claim on the 22nd of June and was promised by your Qatar Thailand Service Agent that the claim will be paid in 7 days. On the 2nd of July 2017, I contact Qatar again because of no response or feedback. All of a sudden the account was handed over to Qatar South Africa. Qatar South Africa tells me that the lack of service from your Qatar Thailand branch is the problem and that they only hear of the situation now when. We were in contact with Lodewyk Mills, at Qatar Cape Town branch from the start when our bag was missing and we had no assistance or any communication, feedback to give and up to now, are ignoring any mails.

Qatar South Africa Cape Town asks for my bank details last week Thursday the 4th of July, in order to process the claim. I receive a mail on Friday that the finance department cannot process the claim due to online banking problems but are promised, that once the system is back online, the claim will be processed immediately.

Still to date, the 12th of July 2017, I have received no claim payout and have been communicated to last on Monday, the 10th of July with another excuse that Qatar SA Cape Town cannot process the claim but it has to go to Head Office.

I have been **** to, disrespected, were given false and misleading information other than the horrible service I have received. It is pathetic for an International brand to have Customer Care Service that deal with a simple problem in this manner and that this simple process can take more than 60 days.

I have asked numerous times for a manager to get involved, I have asked numerous times for a manager to contact me and have asked numerous times for ANY manager contact details in order for this absurd situation to be processed.

Qatar does no respond, give feedback or provide any solution to the problem Qatar created from the start. I have all emails and contact details of Qatar employees who were involved in this process. Like I said before, I have been given false and misleading information and I have all evidence to prove how Qatar handles their customers.
