********** First Time Qatar Flying Experience

On the 8th of May we were to catch our flight out of Johannesburg for a Holiday in ****et, Thailand. We arrived at our gate on time for the 19:30 flight. An hour after the flight was supposed to have left the message was finally relayed that the flight was delayed. Thereafter it was said it was indefinitely delayed. Eventually the flight was cancelled. We were put on another flight with another airline, but its as thought the buck was passed onto them. We eventually had to spend the night in Dubai, and nobody could tell us where our bags were. We were at no stage given any explanation, or apologised to. Due to this we missed our first night in ****et, for which we had already paid. Further to the paid accomodation etc we lost out on, we were supposed to have met friends who made special arrangements to be in ****et that night. There is no tangible monetary value that can be place on that time lost. We did eventually arrive in ****et a day and a half late. We had been told our bags were on a certain flight, but there were not. Instead we happened, by chance to find our bags lying out in the open at the terminal. A great deal of money and time was lost due this .
