Avoid Qatar Airways at all costs

I'll NEVER book with Qatar Airways again if I can help it! I booked a ticket with Qatar for January and everything was confirmed. Then out of the blue they emailed me alleging that I'd cancelled my ticket and they were refunding me- minus the substantial cancellation fee of course. I immediately called customer support to say that there must be some mistake since I'd never cancelled my ticket and still need to fly next month. Their customer support was supremely unhelpful as they just assured me that I had apparently cancelled it and that there was nothing they could do to reinstate the ticket or get me back the cancellation fee. I tried emailing them about it because I thought that once they realised that it was an error that take steps to fix it. They took two days to get back to me and just doubled down on their assertion that I had cancelled it. I asked them to provide any evidence for what they claimed. Any system logs, computer entries, emails or messages from me, or even just a precise time when I supposedly did what they were alleging, but they just ghosted me. Now I still have to fly next month, but I'm down a very hefty cancellation fee. Do yourself a favour and take your business elsewhere.
