On submission of my luggage for passage on Qantas flight QF64 from Johannesburg to Sydney (22/08/2022) and then flight QF536 from Sydney to Brisbane (23/08/2022), I was assured that my hand luggage was allowed due to it being a duffle bag and deformable.

When boarding the aircraft, I was unceremoniously instructed to surrender my hand luggage due to its shape non conformance. I was assured that I would receive my belongings on arrival at Sydney International Airport.

On landing at Sydney International Airport, my hand luggage was nowhere to be seen. I was assured that it must be somewhere and it would be forwarded to Brisbane Airport and delivered to me post hastily.

I have yet to receive my personal belongings and the contents of the luggage are crucial to my trip to Australia. Not to mention the truly unnecessary inconvenience.

The careless and nonchalant nature of Qantas staff baffles me. They truly have no regard for the individual.
