Qantas charges double the price for tickets

Me and my partner have been planning our holiday to Australia and New Zealand for months. i am a Qantas frequent flyer member.
We ended up booking our tickets on Friday evening for + 33,000 ZAR.
Today (Wednesday 09 September) I get an email from Qantas saying that they are running a special since last Monday 07 September. if I was made aware of this special, We could have booked our Johannesburg-Sydney leg in Premium Economy.
The call centre in Cape Town takes no responsibility whatsoever. I phoned twice today. the first time at 13:14 i waited for 30 minutes before a lady answered. when I asked for a supervisor, she cut the call.
So I phoned again at 13:40 and after a LOOONG wait, I spoke to Zubaidah. she basically admitted that the situation was unfair, but she wouldn't neither change our booking to Premium Economy or offer a refund.
All major airlines inform of specials a couple of days in advance. i only booked in advance to get a better price. And Qantas refuses to at least offer any sort of compensation.
