Complete *****s. After agreeing to allow me out of my lease early on email and on whatsapp and after I agreed to pay a cancellation fee, they decide to deduct an entire months rent (R11000) off my deposit without any prior notice. They said that they needed to find a replacement tenant and because they didn't find one they took the money for a months rent on top of me paying a cancellation fee for that month, but I gave them 46 days notice and they made zero effort in that time to find a replacement because the agent was under the impression that the owner wanted to sell, so it was inevitable that a replacement tenant would not be found, all because they forgot to notify the owner of the property when I gave my notice so it was their mistake that I paid for. Now I have to waste time and effort to fight to get MY money back. Some agencies are such sharks, and because they know the average person doesn't have the knowledge or time to go to the Tribunal or agency board, they take chances like this.
