Why the lies?

I went to the store at Panorama shopping centre. When I initially went there a lady named Nicole told me it will take maximum 3 business days. It ended up taking about 8 business days. I had texted Nicole the one day and she told me she was off sick, I called the headoffice and they transferred me to Panorama store and Nicole answered the call. Why was she lying about not being in the office? She also made remarks that was very off and totally not professional. I will definately not be using their services any more and I would not recommend any one else to use it.
