Incomplete and sub-standard work

<p>We employed the service of PVD Construction for building a vertical wooden extension over our TV room. Victor Swart, the owner of PVD Construction advertises his business as working to a standard and not a price. This is unfortunately just a sells pitch. The first 6 weeks of construction my husband was home and luckily stopped a lot of glitches. Victor wanted to put an untreated tongue and groove floor into the bathroom! Thanks to my husband, structurally the building is sound. Once my husband however was no longer here to keep checking, the really shoddy work started. The finishing off of the inside is absolutely shoddy. He has no clue about carpentry and has no qualified carpenter in his team. Therefore my husband decided to make the staircase himself. When he saw the quality of work when it came to the decking, my husband stopped all wood related work, which means we sit with a lot of unfinished work. He was unable to sand and seal the tongue and groove flooring due to not having the equipment, but as an excuse he said it’s a new floor, so does not require a lot of sanding. There are so many high spots on the floor that I now have to call in the professionals to sand and seal the floor. The tiling as well as some of the plaster work is so poor that we will have to re-do some of it. Victor Swart classified us as difficult customers. No we are not, we just simply know more about construction and how things are supposed to be done. My advice, should you employ PVD Construction. Be at home to oversee the building and the work. You cannot leave Victor to build to his standard. It will be disastrous. </p>
