ANNUAL FARES INCREASE: APRIL 2018.

The above mentioned matter bears reference.

We confirm that this letter is written for and on behalf of all the exploited, underpaid workers (i.e. Domestic workers, Garden boys, Tellers, Petrol attendants amongst others) who are our Mothers, Fathers, Brothers, Sister and Uncles your commuters in the KwaNdebele/Nkangala region, in which you have enjoyed business and amassed profits in the past decades without fail. We writing this letter having noted, unpleasantly so, the unfortunate intention of PUTCO to raise the bus fare by an unreasonable and higher than inflation amount of 8% to further deepen the community KwaNdebele/Nkangala region in to poverty and other negative externalities resulting thereof. There above will, unfortunately looking at history, not benefit the masses of passengers currently serviced by PUTCO. We make this claim because we have seen in the past that, price increase did not result in the improvement of the conditions under which passengers travel in, the treatment they receive from the so called professional drivers who are general rude and unfriendly amongst others. We reject with the contempt it deserves, PUTCO’s intention to dig deeper in to our communities poor purses for the soul objective of maxing profit at an expense of the poor and defenseless masses at the mercy of a greedy monopoly like your self. We therefore call on PUTCO to: 1. Revise the intended increment amount of 8% to an inflationary-aliened amount. 2. To discipline the drivers who pass scores of commuters at bus stops even when their busses are half-empty (i.e. at the Pretoria Zoo bus stop). 3. To properly maintain the PUTCO bus that break down in the middle of nowhere with commuters that are generally attending to time sensitive matter at their respective destinations. 4. To enroll their drivers into a customer orientated workshop so they can learn and deceased from their generally rude and mean approach when dealer with passengers. 5. To increase the space between the passenger seats as they too small and hurt other passengers. 6. To go back to the old type of seats which were spongy and comfortable. We giving you (PUTCO) five (5) working days, including Saturday, to respond to the above demands in a favorable manner and a request for a meeting with management Hope the above finds you well.
