Bus Ride To The Grave

On the morning of 28.02.17 @ 7:15am our Putco bus caught fire at the robots on Cnr. Bellairs & Malibongwe onroute to Kya Sands (Bus 8187).

Its a concern that buses are not inspected before leaving their depots and risk the lives of commuters and other motorists on the road. This particular bus in question did not even have a fire extinguisher on board and when a complaint was logged with Putco on their Twitter handle, the complaint is just swiftly brushed under the rug with a tedious repsonse that a fire extinguisher will be fitted on the bus. Lives could have been lost but this incident could have been prevent if buses are regularly serviced and checked.

The company has become so arrogant, that they would rather risk the lives of commuters and other motorists on the road ,as opposed to offering adequate services and roadworthy buses. How do we the commuters escalate our complaints as it seems to be falling on deaf ears, look at the complaints from numerous commuters, yet there are no responses from Putco regarding these issues. Should we anticipate loss of lives first before complaints are taken seriously.

We also cannot blame the drivers as they are not technichians of these rubble of ******* buses we are expected to commute to work and our respective homes.

Please assist as to how this matter can be escalated and how corrective measures will be implemented to avoid this from happening to other commuters moving forward.
