I visited for a massage in January, and unfortunately, I experienced an injury that was caused by the the******'s technique.
During the massage, the the****** used her elbow across my spine three times, and on the third occasion, I asked her to stop as I realised that the third time was not an accident or slight of her elbow. I have since experienced a pinched nerve on my back, which I immediately felt as I left the premises and went into my car. This has led to medical expenses to abate the pain and not to mention, discomfort.
To date, I have spent: - R240.50 on muscle relaxants, - +-R550 on a doctor visit, - R219 on a walking stick to aid in walking - and more than R4700 on chiropractic care, acupuncture, and body stress release sessions. Total: R5 709,50. These expenses have not only been a financial burden but have also caused me considerable pain and discomfort.
I am now at a stage where I have started to not feel the pinched nerve and I hope that this change would be permanent.
I wrote an email to the establishment on 17th April requesting a refund of R650 - which is what I spent on the massage and attached my PoP. I am not faulting the the****** or establishment as I know Purple Orchid Spa is not registered with Massage Therapy Association so R650 for a refund is more than reasonable seeing that I spent over R5 700 on medical expenses.
To date, no response.
Reason for emailing is because I have seen the owner's responses on the Google reviews - defensive and refusing to acknowledge that people are unsatisfied. So even when I do go the direct route, it is a long shot.
