Bad phonecall manners

I called for business purposes and the lady who answered was rude and mean, my felling is she owns the business as she was offended by me asking if she in part of the management team as the marketing manager was not in for the day. Nicely, she asked why am I calling and as soon as i answered she then said they wont be needing my services, taking in mind that the person I wanted to speak to wasnt available I then ask if she is part of the management because if she is I would take what she says as she would have more info than me. She went on, how I offend her by asking question.
