Amateurs In The Industry Who Have No Respect For The Law

<p>Pumbas Backpackers is situated directly next to the Metro train station in a high-crime area, and when ********* broke into the property and stole my new bicycle, the management and owner did not even lodge a complaint with the police. They did not even apologise or offer any kind of consolation. When I insisted they supply the police with evidence that was found, for fingerprinting, they immediately destroyed the evidence and to this date have still not reported the crime. <br />Another incident happened about two weeks prior when a female Peace Corps Volunteer was ****** at gunpoint directly in front of the entrance gate. Again, Pumbas Backpackers did not offer any consolation and also did not report this crime to the police.<br />When I got upset and confronted them about failing to report the break-in and consequent theft of my bike, they immediately evicted me, falsely accused me of having drugs on the property, attached all my property, inflated the amount I owed by more than 30% and EVEN SEIZED MY PASSPORT!</p> <p>Pumbas Backpackers thinks they can take the law into their own hands. They have contravened a number of laws which have ******** implications and are now facing prosecution.</p> <p>I believe this place should be shut down pending the legal proceedings against them and I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy because of the hell they have put me through.</p> <p>PS If you do find yourself in this hole, don't be fooled by the "free breakfast" which consists of only toast & coffee. They won't even provide fresh milk.</p>
