Publishing World SA. Unprofessional

How do you rate a company that is totally unprofessional? One star is surely too high. I wrote a book, “My Health: Are my Grand-parents to blame” based on research in the field of lifestyle habits of the parents and grand-parents on the health and quality of life of the offspring in the longer term. This is a relatively new field of research and it is, in my opinion, important to make this information available to the man in the street. This will enable all to make better decisions about life style choices which may impact on their children’s and grand-children’s future health and quality of life. I personally handed the final edited proof copy of this book in at the Goodwood offices (Now closed) of Publishing World 15 months ago. Since then I tried to find out what the status of this book is. Most of the time e-mails went unanswered. Using the phone number supp**** on the website of Publishing World is a futile exercise. We were able to call Chris Smith and all we get were empty promises. I was, after telling them that I am going to take steps, called by Annmarie Meyer from the Kimberley office. She also made promises that the book will be ready soon and that I will get a copy for final approval before they will make it available on the market. However, despite claims by Annemarie Meyer that she was busy with the final draft of the book, nothing happened. It also implies that nothing was done to complete it during the past 15 months. In an e-mail to me she said that she was almost finished, but when I made enquiries there was no response, and I am still waiting. Publishing World SA and Books Africa/Media House Group is totally unprofessional and *********. I kept my part of the contract. Will they honor their side of the contract? There is no evidence that suggest to me that they will. It seems to me I will not be able to show anything for the R 37800 I paid Publishing World SA more than 2 years ago.
