Heritage Disaster
The Provincial Heritage Resources Authority is responsible for the approval of all demolishment applications regarding buildings older that 60 years. As such it fulfill a very important role in maintaining our heritage. The functionality of this department is also important to speedily approve or deny such applications due to that fact that no new developments can take place unless approval is granted for the demolishment of buildings that is older than 60 years, but of no heritage value.
However, I belief that this department has seized to exist. I have an application in for approval of a building older that 60 years but with no heritage value for over 6 months now. After receiving confirmation of the application, only due to personal delivery, nothing is happening regarding feedback or the answering of mails etc. Phone numbers are not answered and voice mail boxes are full!!!!! I cannot proceed with the development unless approval is granted, irrelevant of the fact that the plans are approved and 110 potential jobs are at stake!!
As far as I am concerned this department has no reason to exist!! Once again a clear indication that the state's money are wasted on service not contributing to the creation of wealth!!!!
