Protour - Out to to ****** cyclists? Worst, most dangerous tour bus company in SA!

<p>I departed on my cycle at 9.12 this morning from Camps Bay. According to my computer, at around 36 minutes after this, very close to the site of the canons on Chapmans Peak heading up from Hout Bay, I was recklessly overtaken by your bus as I headed towards a right hand bend. Given the fact that the bus was driving into a bend, the rear swung perilously close to me with the wheel and side missing me my inches, forcing me to take significant evasive action. I ended up in the water gutter although fortunately, at about 20 km per hour, I did not crash. Although struggling to evade falling, I did notice that the rear wheels were on the ******* side of the solid white line.</p> <p> </p> <p>This kind of road bullying behaviours is utterly unacceptable. The results are usually one dead cyclist and one regretful driver. I would rather be the regretful driver, than be smeared on the tar under a Protour bus.</p> <p> </p> <p>Protout values suggest that you are safety conscious. Yet under ‘safety’ nowhere is there any point made about driver s****s, training and maintenance of standards and the upgrading of safety s****s. Nothing stated at all about care and responsibility towards other vehicles, road users, pedestrians and so on. No mention at all of care and respect for human or indeed animal life. Nothing even basic about obeying standard road regulations and laws!</p> <p> </p> <p>I note that you take pride in mentioning that drivers are always neatly dressed in either the company's formal or informal uniform. They are hand-picked and recruited by means of a proven scientific method. Really? How exciting, when almost run over, to think that the driver who was breaking traffic law and about to potentially **** a cyclist, is at least dressed neatly in a company uniform..</p> <p> </p> <p>I email Protour asking for the CEOs contact details and guess what...hours later am told that an administrator will look into the matter. thye did not reply to my second email.</p> <p> </p> <p>What a shameful, sloppy, approach to raod safety, complaints, health and safety, human life. Shame on you!</p>
