Failure to replace faulty Inverter
On the 24th of November 2022 I ordered an inverter from Proton Solar Distributors. On the 28th of December I informed the company that the inverter was faulty, they were closed during this time. On the 9th of January 2023 I informed them once again about the faulty product as this was the day that they opened up again. I received a response that I should return the product to them, seeing as though I do not live close to them but in another province, I arranged with a courier to have the inverter returned back to them. On the 28th of January they received the inverter. I followed up a number of times as I requested a refund but received no reply. Later I just received response that the inverter was sent in to check what was wrong with it. They ignored my requests for information for over a week and once again I am just receiving messages that the update is that “ they are still busy with all inverters as they are back logged”.
I find this unacceptable as this falls within the 6 month time-frame where I as the consumer has the right to request a refund. This has been dragging on for far too long, and because of this my work is suffering as I do not have the means to purchase another one simply because they cannot replace/refund the one I already paid for. The inverter was a safety risk to my household as it had smoke eminating from it, it did not regulate its voltage correctly either which was a risk to my electric equipment. I have never dealt with such an *********** bunch, they threw their terms and conditions in my face, yet their refund policy states 15days, and this has been a month now.
