Defective Gel Batteries and Horrible Customer Service!!!!!

I bought 2 X 200amp Gel batteries in June 2022, one for myself and the other for our security gate at the complex. These were not holding charge within 3 months from the date of purchase. I took mine back in October, I was told it should be ready for collection within 3 to 5 business days, it took well over six weeks before I got it back. I returned the complex battery to them in Dec, they told they have a long backlog of these but will push it so I get it in two weeks, it's been six weeks and yet to see the battery...

So here's a thing, I had a Gel battery (same size) that I bought from a Chinese shop about 3 years back, this battery still works. As old as it is, this battery has a better hold of charge than these other two batteries combined. I survive a 4 hour slot of load shedding with ease using this old battery. The reason I bought the new one was to ease the strain on the old one, not because it doesn't work anymore. All these details were shared with Proton Solar but they don't want to honor the warranty for the new batteries. It is also worth noting that they've since stopped selling the GEB gel battery because they get a lot of complains and come backs from customer. To me that's an indication that this battery is of poor quality and does not even deserve a day's worth of warranty.

I've also asked if I can get a different battery (in terms of brand) and will pay the difference, this request was refused.

Customer service of this company, especially the after sale service is horrible to say the least. Rather you take your money elsewhere
