Good day Kantse

We apologize for the inconvenience that you had suffered.

It is very important to note that once you have allowed the electricity to switch off before you make a top-up, the meter may struggle to pick up communication again after you have made the payment.

The meters heavily rely on communication signals to load credits, and the switching off due to insufficient credits causes a break in the communication.

We can see that the electricity was already off for hours before you made the payment at 19:22:

 | 31/08/2025 09:03  | 2426.14  | 0.02  |
 | 31/08/2025 09:39  | 2426.16  | 0.02  |
 | 31/08/2025 15:50 | 2426.16  | 0        |
| 01/09/2025 01:10  | 2426.21  | 0.05  |
| 01/09/2025 01:41  | 2426.27  | 0.06  |
| 01/09/2025 02:12  | 2426.29  | 0.02  |

Because the meter was already off for hours by the time you made the payment the meter then struggled from 19:30 to 00:41 to re-establish communication to load the token:
Req Date                     | Ref | Source | Token                                                      | Retries | Date Sent               | Sent OK | Checked
| 31/08/2025 19:30:11 PM | ***4         | SERVICE   ***                  69              01/09/2025 00:41 | TRUE             TRUE
| 31/08/2025 19:22:27 PM | ***1         | Unipin

The good news is that it is possible for a consumer to avoid the frustration, by making top-up payments while the meter is still on, and with a sufficient credit on the account to last should the meter struggle for a while to load the credits.  Clients who manage top-up payments in this manner never struggle with this problem.

Should you require any further information or assistance kindly do not hesitate to get in contact with us.

Kind regards,
Protea Metering

Replying to your kaak service! To start with. Everyone is struggling with this issue. Instead of you being here with all this paragraph you should be sorting out your system. 15 to 30 minutes should be enough for electricity to kick back. As for unprofessional and unreliable team. Maybe that's what you should also focus on. It doesn't matter what time i loaded. The fact that i slept with no electricity it's so rediculous! DO BETTER!

Good day Kantse

In the information provided before you will note that our system generated the token within minutes and immediately started delivery of the token, and kept doing so 69 times before the meter communication picked up and accepted the token.

The loss of communication from the meter when the meter switches off is unfortunately a reality.

We have shared with you the method that many have found to prevent the problem, but how you manage your payments naturally stays your prerogative.

Kind regards,
Protea Metering
