They service is poor like their meters
They service is poor like their meters. Besides the fact that you can wake up to a negative balance after they run their transections at night. You would think a simple top-up will get you up and running... Nope that will not happen. You will need to go through a consultant who thinks they are about to do you a huge favor and the attitude will stink throughout. I mean they are the ones experiencing an outage. Never mind the poor service we are subjected too... They can still block your number & Opt to ignore your calls vele we are calling them from Cellphones. Anyway... They will let you know a technician is 5 hours away then let you know that their help ends there. Whether you pay or not for your electricity, you will be subjected to horrible service and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it. It sucks and it is expensive.

The information that we can share so long is that indeed, what you have consumed in a day will be processed and deducted from your available balance at any time that readings are delivered from the meter onto our system. The consumption of water and electricity is a continious process and people do not stop using water and electricity at a specific cut off time in the evenings. Appliances like fridges and geysers stay on and continue using electricity throughout.
A consumer has access to their consumption profiles for the purpose of monitoring and managing how they consume electricity and water. Your profile will always keep you updated on exactly what you are using every day, and the onus is on the consumer to ensure that their payments stay on par with their actual consumption. If you have a credit wallet account, the account should always reflect a credit balance to prevent the electricity meter from switching off. And even if the electricity meter switches off, that does not stop the consumption of water.
Our advice is that on your online profile, you establish what the daily amount is that you consume, and that your payments make provision for that amount in advance. Also never allow the account to fall into arrears, because once the meter switches off due to an insufficient credit, the networks that are in play to establish communication with the meter may struggle to pick up communication with the meter once it is off.
The ideal is to make provision for a couple of days or longer, and to make a top-up payment well in advance. For example - if you use R20 for electricity and water per day, rather pay R100 to make provision for a week. Then make a top-up payment for the next week at least 48 hours before the credits will run out, to ensure that the top-up is done in time to prevent the meter from switching off.
Always be aware of the timeslot for the latest readings that are reflected on your profile. The time span between readings will affect the amount that is deducted once new readings are delivered. For example, when you log onto your profile, you must compare the available credit against the time of the last reading. If you are using R20 per day, and the latest reading was taken withing the last 60 minutes, and you have a credit of more than R20, that means that you should be covered for the next 24 hours, depending on your consumption pattern for that 24 hours. If you log on and the latest reading was taken the previous day, and the account reflects a credit of R10, that means that when the next reading gets delivered, you would have used electricity and water for more than 24 hours and as soon as a new reading is delivered, the R10 credit will not be sufficient and the meter may switch off and this has nothing to do with the meter being a poor or a good meter. The kind of meters that are placed in a complex is usually determined by the Body Corporate of a complex, and it will be a good quality, approved meter. No Body Corporate benefits from using poor quality meters because a meter that goes faulty usually stops recording consumption and that leads to losses for the Body Corporate.
How account payments are managed is solely in the hands of the consumer - you have the power in your hands and you are completely in control of your consumption and utilities costs. Nobody outside of your household can in any way control or influence that. Please use the information that is at your disposal to your best advantage, for your benefit and for your convenience.
