THE *****EDNESS OF PROTEA METERING!!!!
<p>Protea Metering has been charging me R120 for letters of arrear amounts. These letter are internal letters generated by Protea metering. Previously, they charged me R500 for reconnection. </p> <p>I have an agreement with Protea Metering. Now where in this agreement is it state that I will be charged for letters send. Now where is it stated that I will be charged reconnection fees. </p> <p> </p> <p>This morning, my electricity was cut without notification that my electricity was going to be cut. </p> <p> </p> <p> </p>

There are actual costs involved in performing credit control action. Council bylaws therefore determines that the costs incurred can be recouped from the client who is in default. The tariffs for warnings and cut actions are also determined by the Council.
You have indeed been informed about the scheduled cut action - apart from an email and sms, you also received a hand delivered notice.
The service provider cannot be held liable for your poor management of account payments. You are causing the extra charges due to the fact that account payments are always late, or no payment made resulting in cut action.
You are advised to take proper note of the due date and amount payable that is reflected on each invoice that you receive.
